My Daughter Is Not A Boy

I went to the store the other day to deposit a check at the atm inside and get bananas... little did I know this quick trip would turn into such a strange and extended event. I went straight to the atm where the proper etiquette is to not start conversations with the person using the atm.

A gentleman there apparently wasn't aware of this etiquette and began asking me about my "son". I tried to multitask but ended up forgetting to withdraw the cash I needed. He continued to ask questions about him so I finally corrected him and said it was my daughter. I found a way to end the conversation with him but then the lady at the Starbucks nearby came over to say she had been watching him (my daughter) and how happy of a baby he is.

It didn't stop there, then a random person near the bananas commented on "him" and the cashier that checked my banana's commented on how cute he was. It seriously felt like the twilight zone... my daughter has never been confused for a boy until this day. It doesn't bother me, I just found it odd to have so many instances in such a short period of time.

I then went to Bartell's where everyone knew she was a girl and I even got her a little doll :-)
