Introduction to Cloth Diapers

I first thought about cloth diapers when I was pregnant with my son. I even purchased gDiapers Little gPants but never tried them out because I didn't feel like I had a lot of support for going this route. Unfortunately I ended up using disposables for my son while the gDiapers sat in the closet.

By the time my daughter was born I had several friends that were actively using cloth diapers and I felt much more confident about trying them out. So I grabbed that starter pack from out of the closet and tried the gDiapers. You can see my review of how that went here: gDiapers Little gPants.

After I ran out of those I had a friend that graciously let me try out the cloth diapers that her daughter had grown out of! It was so awesome because she had a little bit of everything and there's no better way to learn about what I want than to play with everything. So I ended up trying: Thirsties, Fuzzibunz, BumGenius, Kushies, Bummis, GroVia, etc. which included pocket, sized, one-size-fits-all, all in ones, pre-folds, etc.

I kept my eyes open any time I heard or saw something about cloth diapers on social networks and that is how I found out about SunBaby Diapers. After a little more than 3 months of using the variety of borrowed diapers, I looked at the SunBaby website I decided these had the best of all the features and ordered them. I wasn't after all, going to be able to keep the borrowed diapers forever. My review of SunBaby Diapers.

I will walk through each of the diapers I tried soon but as a quick note: I like snaps over velcro, inserts over prefolds, pockets over all-in-ones, one-size-fits-all over sized.

You make cloth diapers seem not quite as scary. :)

I used a service called Baby Diaper Service for my cloth diapering with my first child. It was amazing! I didn't have to wash anything but the diaper covers. The service picks up the soiled diapers once a week, and drops of fresh clean ones. I love cloth diapering. I plan on using the same service with the baby I am pregnant with right now. It is good to see another mom my age cloth diapering too!
