My Husband's Failed Vasectomy

vasectomy

I tried to remain calm but I knew how anxious my husband was about this going wrong and suffering complications from it. He was in good spirits though, which helped me out more than I expected. After 30 minutes...

Cleaning Up A Home Birth

AbbyAnnouncement

Around 1:30am I was helped up and out of bed to go potty and take a shower. I was amazed that it didn't hurt to urinate even though I had some internal stitches. I was then helped into the shower and was monitored by my midwife to make sure I wasn't going to faint.

The Birth Of My Daughter

FirstFamPhoto

Next thing I know my midwife says "Her head is out!!!" I couldn't believe it... no ring of fire, no specific additional pain, just all of the sudden I've already pushed out part of my baby! IMHO: Depend Briefs

BACKGROUND: Bleeding after birth is unpredictable and overwhelming. DependWomenMost of us hate 'that time of the month' as well and don't prefer to wear pads because they are bulky...tampons aren't exactly an option yet. I've had all sorts of issues with pads ranging from placing them just wrong and/or having underwear that is too loose which is really annoying. This is where Depends come in as the ultimate solution!

Stripping Membranes After My First Contractions

Once at the clinic I did the usual urine screen, weight check, blood pressure etc. I was hoping that my midwife would find that I was dilated more than the 1cm I had been the previous week. On this day I was 1.5cm dilated and my baby had moved down enough for her to strip the membranes. She had tried the previous week but didn’t feel like she had done much because of how high the baby was. Stripping the membranes is separating...

IMHO: Birth Doula

BACKGROUND: When I was pregnant with my first child I had determined that I wanted a natural birth and wanted someone with experience there to help me through the labor and try Doulato help it go the way I wanted it to. I also didn't want all the weight of my labor support needs to be on my husband because he wouldn't have a clue what to do. The last thing I wanted on the day our son was born was to get mad or frustrated at my husband during the labor.
